The 2019 cattle section endeavours to be highlight of the Show. The cattle ring has been upgraded, - soil has been top dressed and new turf laid. Additionally this year sees the introduction of a herdsman competition to recognise and promote the role of youth in stud stock showing.

As always with the new biosecurity regulations, paperwork, including the National Vendor Declaration, National Cattle Health Statement and pestivirus testing results are a must. Your co-operation in these matters would be greatly appreciated.

We ask that entries be submitted by Wednesday 6pm, via email or post.

We will accept minor changes, without penalty, on Saturday morning as we accept that animals are not always reliable/co-operative.

The events will be run in the order of the schedule.

The Fat Cattle will be held as a separate section but the same rules apply.

Junior Judging will also trial a new system. Entries to be in by 10.00am on the day and inspection of the chosen cattle by 12.00. Only up to the top 5 scores in each section will progress to oral judging.

The Young Farmer’s Challenge will be conducted during the lunch break of the cattle judging.

It is your responsibility to collect your prize money from the Secretary’s Office as no follow up to find you will be undertaken. It does not take very long on the day but many volunteer hours afterwards.
